Providing non-profits with the resources, positive experiences, and community engagement
ViaPath Technologies’ Foundation is committed to providing meaningful impact on the lives of at-risk youth while also supporting the company mission of breaking the cycle of incarceration through transformative technology and services. Stopping the generational cycle and driving down recidivism means rethinking how we approach reintegration. Supporting and strengthening the families of the incarcerated promotes successful reintegration by cultivating strong support networks. We exist to provide non-profits with the resources, positive experiences, and community engagement they need to continue helping at-risk youth realize their full potential.
What we do
Studies show that maintaining the child-parent relationship while a parent is incarcerated is proven to improve the child’s emotional response to the incarceration as well as encourages parent-child attachment. Despite these findings, almost half of parents in federal prisons report not having personal visits with their children. More than 60 percent of parents in state prison and more than 80 percent of parents in federal prison are incarcerated more than 100 miles from their last place of residence.
Past grant cycles have furthered the work of organizations such as:
- Foster Love which makes the foster care experience better for the 430,000 children going through it.
- Amachi Pittsburgh which seeks to empower, nurture, and protect those most vulnerable to the criminal justice system.
- US Dream Academy which works to inspire and invest in the lives of children of incarcerated parents and families in communities harmed by systemic inequities.
- Comfort Cases, Inc. which inspires communities to bring dignity and hope to youth in foster care.
